🤍October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month🤍

A few years ago, I went through an unexpected and heartbreaking miscarriage. There isn’t a day that I don’t think about our baby. I’ve come to learn that grief never fully leaves. It weaves itself into the fabric of our lives as a reminder of love that was, still is, and will always be.

So many who carry the weight of pregnancy or infant loss do so in silence. As a way to extend lovingkindness, I have created a special angel design to honor them and the little souls we hold forever in our hearts.

I have 50 unique, hand-painted angels in this design. Each is 5x7, mixed media on paper, offered for $5. My hope is that these angels find their way into the hands of those who have known this kind of loss, and also serve as a way for others to send love and comfort when words are not enough.

A Sabbath well spent.
Sabbath is about connection, returning to what is most true. It’s not always about ceasing, but about leaning in… into the Presence that holds us, the ground that steadies us, the peace that makes us whole. Today that meant feeling the texture of paint and paper on my fingers, listening to wordless music that soothes my soul, and slowing down enough to breathe… deeply. Sabbath is about coming home, connecting, and returning again to who you truly are— seen, known, and loved by the One who made you.

✨ Today, I finished a paper on seeing those who are overlooked and hearing those others do not. It reminded me how much of life happens in the margins in the quiet pain, hidden grief, unspoken longing.

And this week, as another school shooting shakes our nation, I can’t help but think: how many voices go unheard until it’s too late? How many people walk through our neighborhoods, schools, even our churches, carrying pain that no one has noticed?

Art has a way of teaching us to pay attention. To slow down, to really see the person right in front of us. To hear what isn’t being said out loud.

Now is the time to practice that kind of vision. To open our eyes. To open our ears. To refuse to let the people around us feel invisible.

Because when we change the way we see, the things we see will change.

🧿Creating this collage provided a tangible a way for me to reflect and process the intensive course I attended at a few weeks ago. Now it serves as a reminder to live with eyes wide open.

The story of the bleeding woman, found in three of the four Gospels, is one that has always intrigued me. How did she know she needed to touch Jesus’ hem? How did it feel to be made whole? What did she do after?

In my mind, after being made well she went to a river and bathed her renewed body in peace, in joy, in reverence. In delight and in assurance of who she was and whose she was. Beloved.
