The Birmingham Zoo is home is a variety of animals, including lions, zebras, giraffes, sea lions, orangutans, a jaguar, African elephants, and endangered species from six continents! The Birmingham Zoo is a non-profit and is open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, except during special, seasonal, and extended hours. Regular admission is $18.

95* for adults, $15.95* for senior citizens, military, first responders, and college students, and $13.95* for children ages 2-12 (*Price not including tax). The Birmingham Zoo is the only AZA-accredited Zoo in the state of Alabama.

Meet Goblin! 🎃🖤
Born on Halloween in 2019, Goblin is now 6 years old and joined us from Little Rock Zoo.
🤍 She has been settling in wonderfully and quickly winning over both keepers and guests alike!
Goblin loves spending time with our male gibbon, Christopher, people watching through the holly bushes, and hanging out with her keepers. She’s incredibly gentle, patient, and full of personality, and we’re so excited for everyone to get to know her better! 🐒✨

These sessions are built around trust and positive reinforcement, allowing Josh to engage only when he’s comfortable. Meet our new Red Ruffed Lemur sisters, Oni (5 years old) and Fuzzy (2 years old)! ❤️🐒

💡Native to Madagascar, Red Ruffed Lemurs are one of the largest lemur species and live in matriarchal groups where females lead the social structure, girl power!
🌍 Sadly, they are heavily impacted by habitat loss and the illegal pet trade, reminding us that primates are wild animals and not pets.
