This was a really cool one to be able to print. My boss got the block years ago at a flea market and was told it was extremely old. I printed it and reached out to some art historians that both said they had never seen anything like it. There was a big line gauged out of the middle. My boss was told that there was a piece that fit in that groove and completed the picture and that it was a bit wider than the block so that’s how they got it off the paper. Everyone I talked to about it came to the conclusion that there was most likely no missing piece, just a design element. Do any of y’all have any insight or knowledge of this sort of thing?

Printing possibly the last of the first layers this morning. Every time I go to hang one up I can’t help but smile at Dominic’s artwork of the week being his hand on Nadia’s work copier, that he insisted be hung up “where you hang your stuff” 🥹
