Taunting Taboo is taking the vibe outside for Taboo at Sunset: A City Showcase Experience an outdoor live talent showcase created to spotlight Alabama’s poets, artists, singers, authors, musicians, and creatives.

Set inside the magical outdoor world of Elysian Gardens, this experience brings together live performances, a live band, local vendors, food, drinks, paint canvas add-ons, art, and community under the sunset!

This is not your average open mic.
This is where Alabama talent gets seen, heard, and felt✨️

With live musical direction by Dee Hill, the night will move with soul, sound, and intention giving every performance a moment, a mood, and a memory.

We’re stepping beyond our signature luxury aesthetic and bringing Birmingham something different; something soulful, artistic, grown and unforgettable.

Introducing Taboo at Sunset: A City Showcase Experience

This outdoor showcase was created to highlight the voices, sounds and creative energy of Alabama’s poets, artists, singers, authors, musicians and performers all set inside the whimsical open-air atmosphere of Elysian Gardens Birmingham in Avondale Entertainment District.

This is not your average open mic!

The mic is open, but the experience is curated🪄
The entire night will be brought to life by a live band led by Musical Director Dee Hill, a respected Birmingham-based R&B, blues, and soul pianist/keyboardist and Alabama Blues Hall of Fame inductee.

Guests can expect live performances, local vendors, food, drinks, paint canvas add-ons, outdoor art, and a mature crowd ready to vibe, connect and celebrate local talent under the sunset!

Whether you’re coming to perform, support, sip, shop, paint or simply experience something new in the city, this night is for you.

Last night was everything!!!

To every guest who walked through the doors, every performer who poured their passion onto the stage, every vendor who brought their gifts into the room, our DJ, chef, team, and everyone who helped make this night what it was, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The energy, the love, the support, the sensuality, the laughter, the confidence, the vulnerability, the vibes… it all came together beautifully. You didn’t just attend a show, you helped create an experience.

Erotic Poetry Night: Lipstick & Love Notes reminded me exactly why Taunting Taboo exists: to create spaces where people can feel free, seen, desired, expressive, and unapologetically themselves.

I am so grateful for every person who trusted us with their night. Thank you for showing up, dressing up, opening up, and being part of the magic.

And we’re not stopping here…

Our next experience is coming June 27th, and the official announcement drops next week. Be on the lookout, because the next one is about to be something special.
