Creative Stitches

Creative Stitches Authorized BERNINA Dealer and Service. We do not do alterations of any kind. We also do what most others in the area do, we farm.

We offer: lots of fabric!, service for BERNINA machines only, longarm quilting, custom printed or embroidered apparel and accessories and laser engraving. Situated on Main Street in Bird Island, you'll find us in a small but spacious store. We are an authorized BERNINA Dealer with Tech and carry notions, threads and other accessories to keep you sewing and embroidering.

​I am Amanda Elfering and

together with my husband, Kelly, we purchased Creative Stitches in October 2017.

​We both grew up in the Bird Island/Hector area and are happy to be raising our 4 children here. We grow corn, soybeans, sugar beets, sweet corn, and peas. If Kelly isn't at the store servicing machines, he's probably in a field somewhere :)

​3 of our 4 children sew so far. They help me piece samples for the store and like sewing crafts. Besides quilting, I also love machine embroidery and all you can do with it. We hope to get more classes going in the future.

This 12-month program delivers a beautifully curated table runner kit in an exclusive keepsake box, beginning in January. Each kit includes the pattern plus all the fabric needed for the table runner top and binding, making it an easy, ready-to-sew project. January's kit is the April table runner, Songbirds, giving you plenty of time to complete it.

Each kit is $59.99 and you have the option to pick it up in the store or have it shipped to you. Only 6 available for each month.
