So, I am realizing that there is some confusion about what an art cafe actually is. I get it, it's a totally outside of the box concept for this area and can be a little hard to get at first. I had a fellow artist friend come in tonight and say that they weren't going to get a cup of coffee this time. And I said "Oh, well the coffee is included with your art experience." That turned into a whole conversation about what The Creative Hive Art Cafè really is.
Let's start with the art cafe is NOT a coffee shop.
•It IS a COMMUNITY ART STUDIO that you can drop into during our open hours and create anything from our ART Menu. You order your materials, they are served to you at your table, and then you are checked on periodically (like at a restaurant or cafe). No need for you to clean up, we have that taken care of for you. Yes, there is coffee, tea, and water, but those are included as a thank you for coming and being creative with us.
•The Creative Hive is a place for ANYONE to come and make art just for the heck of it or to dive deep into a project that you have been waiting to start because you didn't have the space or time. Set aside the time and come in for a few hours.
•We are super kid-friendly and offer homeschool art classes, summer camps, private lessons, & birthday parties! Our youth is the heart of the Hive and it's our goal to build their confidence & foster connections with our creative community.
•This space is inspired by the impressionists and how they met up at French cafes to exchange ideas, talk about the light & other artsy things, and most importantly INSPIRE each other. This space is meant to BENEFIT local artists as well and to provide a place where they can share their skills with others. We love collabing with other artists to bring new & different art workshops to the community. We have some sweet workshops coming this fall, so give us a follow and stay up to date.
