๐๐๐ NEW BOOK RELEASE AVAILABLE TODAY ๐๐๐
Apologies for the long post, but I hope you will read on because today is release day! This will probably be the only time in my life that I publish a book, and I want to take in this moment as fully as possible. Iโll also be invading your feed for a while as I promote the book โ thanks in advance for understanding.
A little over a decade ago, a movement disorder that developed as a side effect of medications changed and shaped every aspect of who I am and the way I function in this world. For the past four years, Iโve been writing my story of how all this came to be in an attempt to foster a better understanding of the experiences I and many others face.
Unstill, The Ordeal of Anxiety, Pills, and an Undiagnosed Disorder, a Memoir, is a cautionary tale about the dangers of mental health medications and their side effects. Inspired by my artwork that was created at the time of the events, this very personal tale chronicles the nightmare of having to navigate through a horrendous medical system in my quest for a proper diagnosis and treatment. I hope this book will make you laugh, question, and reflect on your own journey with your mental health.
Please take a moment to get a copy of this book or listen to the audio version. I never thought Iโd be sharing this story with the world, but I felt compelled to spread awareness and continue advocating for medication safety as a priority, not just to the general public but to doctors as well.
โNowโ felt like an appropriate time to release this material because so many new medications are on the market for various conditions. Yet, the cost of life-changing side effects is rarely a consideration for many. What happened to me could happen to just about anyone in varying degrees, and much of it is entirely preventable. However, this is not an anti-medication book but a call to action.
Something you should know about the self-publishing worldโwe have very little control over the cost of the books or the quality of the printing process. Keeping this book as affordable and accessible to everyone as possible was imperative to me. Visit Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Audible or wherever you buy books to get a copy. You can also visit my website https://www.lennygallo.com/unstill, where I listed the most affordable versions.
I would also be incredibly indebted, grateful, and appreciative if you could share this post and follow Unstill: The Book on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Tag in your posts, leave reviews on Amazon or wherever you buy the book and help spread the word.
Finally, a very special thank you to the Akathisia Alliance for Education and Research for endorsing my book. Having your support behind this project means the world to me. I am truly grateful for your organization and the continued advocacy that you do.
Happy reading everyone!
