We're working on going through photos from the 1st Annual Lt. Scott Pavlick Heart-Strong 5K & Festival and wanted to share a few more of our favorites!

From the runners and volunteers to the vendors, sponsors, kickball teams, and families who came out to support the event, these photos capture what made the day so special.

Another memorable moment from the 1st Annual Lt. Scott Pavlick Heart-Strong 5K & Festival came near the finish line.

As the Binghamton Fire Department 's 2026 Recruit Class made their way through the final stretch of the race, they finished together, crossing the line as a team.

It was a powerful moment that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.

Watching these recruits complete the 5K together was something special, and we have no doubt they will successfully complete their training and go on to become outstanding firefighters, just like Scott, serving our community for years to come.

Congratulations to the entire Recruit Class of 2026 on a job well done!

Thanks to the generosity of our community and the willingness of our volunteers to take a plunge, the dunk tank raised over $1,300 to support our event and its mission.

A huge thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who bravely took a seat above the water and to everyone who stepped up to take their shot. Your participation helped make the festival a tremendous success.

We would also like to recognize Binghamton native Jimmy Abbott, who earned the title of our top fundraiser by raising the most money of all our dunk tank participants. Outstanding job, Jimmy!

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this event so special. We couldn't have done it without the support of our volunteers, participants, sponsors, and community members.

When the Fire Chief volunteers for the dunk tank, anything can happen!
One of the highlights of the day today was watching a former NHL player turned Binghamton firefighter put his hockey skills on display!
With a laser-accurate shot, he sent the Chief of the Binghamton Fire Department straight into the dunk tank!
The dunk tank was a huge hit throughout the day and provided plenty of laughs for everyone in attendance. Thank you to all of the good sports who took a seat above the water and helped make the festival such a fun and memorable event.

Whether you were racing for a personal best, running in memory of a loved one, supporting a great cause, or simply enjoying a beautiful day with our community, we are grateful that you chose to be part of this special event.

The energy, support, and turnout exceeded our expectations and helped make this inaugural event a tremendous success while honoring the legacy of Lt. Scott Pavlick.

After a hard-fought 14-team double-elimination tournament, we would like to congratulate our top finishers!!

Thank you to all 14 teams that participated and helped make the tournament such a success. The competition was fierce, the sportsmanship was outstanding, and the energy throughout the day was incredible.

What an incredible day at the 1st Annual Lt. Scott Pavlick Heart-Strong 5K & Festival!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success — our runners and walkers, kickball tournament teams, food vendors, Touch-A-Truck participants, KidZone vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and community members who came out to support the event.

Your participation, generosity, and enthusiasm helped us honor Lt. Scott Pavlick’s memory in a truly special way. We are grateful for the overwhelming support shown throughout the day and are proud to have shared this event with all of you.

Today is the day!

As part of the First Annual Lt. Scott Pavlick Heart-Strong 5K & Festival, the 5K race will begin promptly at 9:00 AM today!

Attached is the official race course map, which highlights the route runners will take through Binghamton's Southside neighborhood.

We ask members of the community to please plan ahead and, if possible, avoid driving on or near the race route between 9:00 AM and approximately 10:00 AM while runners are on the course. Temporary traffic delays and road closures may be in place to ensure the safety of all participants.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation!

Thank you for helping us make the race safe and successful for all involved. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Heart-Strong 5K & Festival!

Here's a sneak peek at almost everything the festival has to offer, including food vendors, basket raffles, family activities, public safety displays, the kickball tournament, entertainment, and much more!

As you review the map, please keep in mind that parking at the event site will be limited. We encourage participants and attendees to plan ahead and expect to park on the surrounding neighborhood streets.

The attached map will help you navigate the event grounds and identify the best areas to access the festival.
We kindly ask everyone to:
✅ Arrive early to allow extra time for parking
✅ Follow all posted parking regulations and signage
✅ Be respectful of our neighbors and local residents
✅ Consider carpooling when possible
