The Depths Between

"The soul has illusions as the bird has wings: it is supported by them." — Victor Hugo

This 16x20 mixed media piece exploration is a journey through layers of fluid alcohol ink and structured acrylic. The Depths Between captures the movement of light through deep water or the shifting colors of a forest at twilight. It is a study of contrast—where the unpredictable flow of ink meets the intentional placed paint, creating a sense of infinite dimension.

Every angle reveals new details: bubbling organic cells, hidden shimmer, and ridges that catch the light as you move past. It is an invitation to look closer and find the quiet beauty in the complex layers of our own experiences.

Size: 16x20 inches

The Stillness That Knows

"Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation." — Rumi

There is a profound power in the quiet. The Stillness That Knows is an invitation to pause and breathe. This original 8x8 acrylic painting captures the moment soft light settles across dark water, where blossoms emerge without urgency and the world feels momentarily suspended.

Every inch of the canvas is a tactile experience. Through a specialized process of layering and heat texturing, the surface holds a hushed luminosity. Texture becomes a physical prayer, and color carries the weight of what words cannot reach.

Size: 8x8 inches
Medium: Professional acrylic on canvas
Origin: Hand painted in Billings, Montana

Investment: 225.00

This piece is designed for the space in your home where you seek reflection and peace. It rests in that sacred gap where meaning is felt rather than spoken.

Life, Speaking Softly
“Where there is water, there is life.” — Rumi

3 × 5 acrylic painting on canvas by MacKenzie J. D. Brown, Billings, Montana.
Layered blues and subtle currents move across the surface with quiet intention, suggesting life not as spectacle but as persistence. This small work holds the presence of water as memory and motion, inviting the viewer to notice how vitality often arrives gently, almost unnoticed, yet never absent.

What Moves Without Announcement
“Where there is silence, there is eloquence. Stop weaving and see how the pattern improves.” — Rumi

Original acrylic painting on canvas by MacKenzie J. D. Brown, Billings, Montana.
Built through layered restraint, the surface carries slow accumulations of color and texture, like material shaped over time rather than force. The work holds a quiet momentum—movement that happens without insistence—inviting the viewer to notice what emerges when intervention gives way to patience.

Before the Shape Knows Itself
“Inside you there’s an artist you don’t know about.” — Rumi

Original alcohol ink painting on 10x30 canvas by MacKenzie J. D. Brown, Billings, Montana.
Soft blooms of blue and green spread across the surface in organic clusters, evoking growth, memory, and emergence beneath water. The painting feels discovered rather than directed—its forms arising through flow and pause, allowing structure to surface on its own terms. COMING SOON thecommonrite.com

Light Finds the Surface
“Where there is water, there is life.” — Rumi

16 × 20 original acrylic painting on canvas by MacKenzie J. D. Brown, Billings, Montana.
A calm expanse of deep blues holds a luminous golden form just above the horizon, its reflection softened by textured currents below. This piece speaks to emergence through stillness—how light does not force its arrival, but rises naturally when the surface is ready to receive it. COMING SOON thecommonrite.com
