What is Wet Ink, you ask?
Wet Ink is a 24-hour play festival. That is: within 24 hours, plays are cast, written, directed, rehearsed, and ultimately performed.
This is theater madness and here’s the method…
BEFORE NIGHT 1
Writers and directors of 6 plays are assembled
NIGHT 1
8:00 PM Actors “audition” for the festival before the audience of writers, directors, other actors, and the public Projectile Comedy creates improv scenes based on those auditions, from which the audience’s favorite lines are extracted. All favorite lines are condensed to 12 (two per play). Writers, directors, actors, and lines are randomized and paired together
10:00 PM Writer begins writing for actors, while incorporating two lines from above
DAY/NIGHT 2
10:00 AM Writer hands over new play to director and actors. Rehearsal process begins
8:00 PM Performance of 6 new plays
