MontanaFair is an agricultural celebration in the historic tradition of fairs. It is the region’s largest event with attendance of nearly a quarter of a million each year. Held at MetraPark in Billings, MontanaFair celebrates for nine days beginning the second weekend in August. Nearly 10,000 people will earn cash and ribbons for their entries which range from beer, wine, bunnies, crocheting, hort

iculture, horses, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, petit-point, pickles, to hobbies, and arts and crafts.The Thomas Carnival operates the midway featuring rides and games. A shady park for kid’s rides accommodates families and the free Kid’s World exhibit nearby offers free games, activities, and a petting zoo for small children. Food choices are abundant at the fair featuring the traditional corn dog, BBQ, corn on the cob, ‘Vikings On a Stick’, fresh lemonade, and beer gardens. Stages around the grounds provide free entertainment that can include music, comedy, hypnosis, kid’s entertainment, variety acts, draft horses, and more. Night entertainment includes top notch concerts, supercross and PRCA Pro Rodeo.

What a first year for the Little Fairgoers Fund!🎡

Launched for the first time at MontanaFair 2026, the Little Fairgoers Fund was created to help give more kids and families in our community the opportunity to experience a day at the fair — and we couldn’t be more excited about the impact of year one.

❤️ 100% of available Little Fairgoers Fund tickets distributed into our community

That’s a wrap on MontanaFair 2026! 🎡

The numbers tell an incredible story, but MontanaFair is about so much more than numbers. It’s the exhibitors who spend months preparing their projects, the 4-H and FFA youth who put in countless hours, the vendors who keep everyone fed, the entertainers who fill our stages, the sponsors who make so much possible, and the thousands of people who walk through our gates each August.

To our community, partners, sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, volunteers, staff, and everyone who helped bring MontanaFair 2026 to life - thank you.

We’re proud of what we accomplished together this year, and we’re already looking ahead.

Nine days. Countless memories. One incredible community.

To everyone who walked through our gates, rode the rides, grabbed their favorite fair food, cheered from the stands, explored the exhibits, supported our youth, danced at a concert or simply spent a summer day with us - thank you for making MontanaFair what it is.

To Mighty Thomas Carnival and our vendors, exhibitors, entertainers, volunteers, 4-H & FFA families, partners and everyone working behind the scenes - thank you for bringing the Fair to life each day.

All rides are just 4 credits each during this special Saturday carnival deal!

🐮 4-H/FFA Junior Livestock Sale | 12:30pm
Head to the Expo Center and support our hardworking youth exhibitors as they wrap up their MontanaFair projects!

✂️ Mullet Contest | 4pm
Business in the front, party at MontanaFair! Head to the TDS Tent and show off that mullet — the winner in each age group scores tickets to Rodeo Billings! Need a little last-minute cleanup? Ruthless Barbershop will be onsite to get you competition-ready.

🤠 Final Night of Rodeo Billings | 7pm
One last night of rodeo action at the MetraPark Outdoor Arena! Your Rodeo Billings ticket includes MontanaFair gate admission, so come early and enjoy the fair before the performance.

🌭 And most importantly... get those last bites of fair food in before it’s too late! One more corn dog, funnel cake or basket of cheese curds never hurt. 😉

Gates to the rodeo grounds open at 6pm with the action kicking off at 7pm. And yes — you can grab your favorite MontanaFair food and bring it into the arena with you. 🌭🍿
