I watched shows last night about hurricanes and tornadoes.
The power of nature and it's response to how all the elements align to unleash huge destruction is beyond comprehension. Since we are integral in nature, we are nature in fact, perhaps we too have huge storms and chaotic re arranging in our self and extend to our systems in society. I wonder how it will eventually settle after the severe storms. Will we re build and how could that happen? Will it be consciously and with love or with division and selfishness. Each of us have a part in it. For me....for today.... after a little contemplation I arrive at the reality of today, of this moment and how I'd best experience the precious life I am blessed with now. I wish for you a most wondrous day filled with love and joy.

This is a "behind the scenes documentary" about a movie called "A Stab At Heaven" which should be coming out soon. Some of it was filmed here at The Jewel in the Forest and I even have a very small (but potent) part in the movie. (not mentioned in this short film but I think I'm still in it). I haven't seen the full movie but what I have seen is very moving and deeply sensitive which isn't surprising given the work of Mark DePaola and Sara Backstrom with the "truth" story of Ema.

I'll let you know when they plan to have a screening here!

I just came across this post on my “Essence Portraits” page. This one is painted in oil on canvas some years ago.
Recently, I’ve had several people contact me after having their portrait done 10-15 and even 20 years ago and wanting a new one. I just love that and it’s such an honor and such a great opportunity to dive a little deeper once again.

Working up a good sweat today working to clean my very crazy messy studio where I store too many things "just in case" I might wanna use them in my art sometime. Feels good to make a dent in this process and I know I'll feel freer about creativity.
Next Sunday Oct 18th "Painting in the Redwoods" is going to be a super Sunday funday!

Class is full on this one but let me know if you'd like to dance with colors in the forest.....next time or make an appointment for a private session.
