I’m so ready for our Art & Unwind session tomorrow morning. We start with a short and sweet meditation to help us get out of our own way. Then we work on a small project. There’s no pressure. Some are creating something with a goal in mind. Some are there to just play with new art supplies. Some are there to simply enjoy the process of making something. Join us tomorrow morning at Big Stone Commons from 10-11am. Enter through door 2, then take a left down the hallway until you find us. ❤️

Art-a-la-Cart is from 1-4:30pm on Thursday, August 27, no pre-registration necessary! And while supplies last, these little modeling clay kits are free (one per person per visit). Feel free to play with them during your studio time or take them home.

Modeling clay usually costs a little extra during Art-a-la-Cart time, as it's a rather spendy supply. When you pay for studio time, you can add on modeling clay for $1/1 oz pouch. Colors come in blue, yellow, red, and white; because as a former art teacher, I'm obviously going to make you mix your own secondary colors. 😆

Free supplies included with your studio time include:
• Construction paper
• Printer paper
• Sharpies
• Crayons
• Basic colored pencils
• Drawing pencils & erasers
• Glue & glue sticks
• Cardboard
• Pencils
• Tape
• Basic markers
• One 5×7 sheet of specialty paper (think watercolor, cardstock, etc)
• Ribbon
• Pom poms
• Fabric
• Yarn
• Popsicle sticks
• Pipe cleaners
• Stickers
• Magazines/newspapers/books
• Reusable studio tools such as:

▪ scissors
▪ stencils
▪ stamps
▪ loom

Moon and Back Art Studios is located inside Big Stone Commons (the former Big Stone City School). Use door 2 to enter, then head left down the hallway.

Okay, you've maybe heard me mention Art-a-la-Cart a couple of times now, but what is it exactly? Unstructured studio time.

How it works:
🖍 Check in and record your start time (you'll receive a "menu" to fill out).
🖌 Choose your materials.
🎨 Create!
🚰 Clean up your workspace.
🕐 Check out, record your end time, and pay.

What you pay for:
👩🏼‍🎨Studio time
--- $10 for the first hour
--- +$2.50 for every 15 minutes after
✏Includes basic supplies
🎨Add-on supplies available for small extra charge

No registration required. For this last week of August, Art-a-la-Cart hours are Thursday from 1-4pm. Starting in September, open hours will be on Wednesdays from 1-4:45pm. Want to come but these times don't work? I'd love to hear your suggestions! 👇
