We are so excited to announce that Marina and Chloe have been selected to perform in an upcoming production with the Key West International Dance Company !

Key West International Dance Company is known for bold, professional productions spanning everything from tango and Latin dance to theatrical musicals and contemporary rock ballet, and over the next month our girls will be rehearsing right alongside professional dancers and artists as they prepare for performances at the Tennessee Williams Theatre mid-November!

Both girls have character roles that are truly important to the story, and Marina will be portraying director Pamela Stephenson herself as a child. 🥹

This is such a special opportunity for them to experience a professional production process firsthand. Rehearsals, storytelling, character work, stagecraft, and all.
This is our why. Giving our dancers opportunities to grow beyond the studio walls, work with incredible artists, and step into rooms that challenge and inspire them.

We could not be more excited for Marina & Chloe so show them some love in the comments below! 💗✨

We’d love your vote! 💗

Island Groove Dance Studio is up for recognition through the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce, and we’d be so grateful for your support in two categories:
Best Small Business
and
Most Civically Minded Business

Island Groove has always been about more than dance, it’s about creating opportunities for local kids, supporting families, showing up for our community, participating in local events, and giving our dancers a place to grow in confidence and connection.

If Island Groove has made an impact on your family or our community, we’d be so thankful if you took a moment to vote for us in both categories. 🫶🏼

Proud of this crew. 💗

Competition season is about so much more than trophies, it’s about discipline, teamwork, confidence, growth, and learning how to keep showing up for each other.

These girls are putting in the work, pushing themselves, and growing every week, and we are so excited to see where this season takes them. ✨

One of my favorite ways to teach rhythm without making it feel like a lesson. 👏

We start with the basic 8-count, then divide each beat with the “&” counts, and finally switch between the two.

They think they’re playing hopscotch.
I’m sneaking in counting, timing, coordination + musicality. 😏

Dance training is so much more than learning choreography. 👀✨

This week we’re working on frame control, placement, strength, and body awareness, the small details that make a huge difference in how a dancer moves.

It’s in these moments of correction, repetition, and focus that real growth happens. 💛

We’re not just teaching dances. We’re training dancers.

Embrace the Movement. ✨
