Spring came and brought violets. So generous was she as she sprinkled them in the garden and in the grass. Her heart was warmed, not by the sun, but by the children on their knees picking them as gifts for their mothers. She giggled down in sunbeams when she saw the little girl grasping them by their heads while trying to fashion her first bouquet for her mother, and it touched her way down deep to watch the girl’s father bend down and teach his daughter how to pick them with long stems.
Every year the girl, now a woman of 70 , searches for those violets and welcomes another Spring to her life…And she can’t wait for little hands to pick a handful for just for her, for no particular reason.

Remembering a small fist full of flowers presented like like it was her greatest treasure . Mangled and drooping by the sun overhead. Her mother’s darling called them “ Lily of the wee wee.” They live on today in her mother’s special place inside her heart, and her mother takes them out when the sunshine brings her Spring.

The children are watching. Inks and charcoal on water paper.

They watch as their world is torn apart. Do they even understand what is happening? Do we? We watch, helplessly as they do and try to understand how the disturbed thoughts of one man could hold the whole world hostage. We look out from our umbrella here and feel their grief. We send food, blankets and shelter, but we cannot give them peace. We think of their mothers who hope for a better world.
The children are watching.

We are all here to find our way back to Heaven, and give strength to those who are lost. We are all lost at one time or another. I sometimes wonder if Heaven is a place, or an exquisite state of mind and being while we find our way. . . A state of the purest love.

Dark day dancing. 12x18” acrylics on watercolor paper.

She found her tutu, splashed some colors, around and changed her world for one moment. One song. One snap of her fingers. One dance. One memory. …
And then she saw the magic.

Way to shine. 18x24” charcoal

The thoughts we store inside our heads will change the world when they find their way out. Be a sunbeam and shine up the darkness. Think and speak the language of kindness. Radiate your inner power. Happy Sunday my Dear Ones.

The light of the world. 18x24” acrylics on watercolor paper

There is a quiet strength in prayer. Sometimes I worry about the world , here and overseas right now. The power of prayer helps me to slow the world’s troubles down and trust that there is God’s watchful eye looking down and that He’s always got this. Imagine how bright our world could be if everyone lit one little candle in prayer.Surely the Angels are praying with us.

It’s a stretch. 18x24” inks on watercolor paper.

This is inspired by my Mom, Patricia. Most of my Dear Ones know that I used to call her my butterfly, because she would flit from one thing to the next with such grace. She was occupying space in my mind as I set about to paint. It took a few days to finish the ink strokes, and I could hear her voice in my ears . Her last words to me on this Earth were, Take The Time. I did, and probably spent way too much time on this painting, but in the end I felt peace.
I hope that we are all able to feel this peace, and most of all the joy that comes from being who you were created to be.

Never forget 18x24” acrylics on watercolor paper.

There will never be another soul just like you. Never forget that.
Every life on Earth has its happy times, it’s sad times. Never forget that.
It is all about choices and consequences, every day. Never forget that.
Your purpose is revealed to you every day,
Never forget that.
You belong and are loved , always, always remember that. ©️Gail Sloan Hiller

Essence of flowers . 18x24” watercolor

Painting my memory of the essence of flowers. These flowers only exist in my mind. Remembering my time working at the florist, and smiling. Remembering my mother’s iris plants and how they smelled like Koolaid.
Always wishing for them to bloom forever, and now they do, only on paper
