On October 7th, Yael Keidar (43), who lives with a mild intellectual disability, survived the Be’eri massacre while her father was murdered and her mother, Ofra (70), was kidnapped to Gaza. Alone, Yael hid for hours in the safe room as her house burned, until soldiers rescued her. Now relocated to an assisted living facility in Dimona, she struggles with trauma, loss, and sudden independence. Between waiting for her mother’s return and rebuilding her life, Yael learns to rely on her brothers as substitute caregivers. The film follows her journey of resilience as she seeks to survive the everyday.

Nicole, Dassi and Elly Sapper are three young girls growing up in an Ultra-Orthodox community in Melbourne. In their parents’ eyes they will do as all young women do: find husbands, have children and continue the traditions of their insular faith. In 2008 that expectation is shattered when allegations surface that the sisters were abused by their headmistress Malka Leifer. With a PR disaster on their hands, the school board spirits Leifer away to Israel, setting in motion a decade and a half of anger, frustration and determination to bring Leifer back to face her crimes.

Following the October 7th massacre and allegations that UNRWA staff were involved in the kidnappings, the agency made headlines around the world. Israel enacted legislation to suspend cooperation with UNRWA, despite the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The film presents a historical examination of UNRWA's role-a temporary agency, initially mandated to resolve the refugee crisis following the 1948 war, which has never ceased its operations and, after 75 years, continues to perpetuate generations of refugees.
