Barbara Morrison, jazz and blues legend who left a lasting imprint on L.A., dies

We are very saddened to hear of Barbara Morrison's passing yesterday. Her spirit was evervescent and that came through in her incredible music-making. Barbara will be so missed, especially by all of us in Los Angeles, a city that she made an indelible impact on. It is a gift that we were able to film a Sorting Room session with her during the Summer of 2020. Sending love to her family and dear ones.

Morrison was one of Los Angeles' top jazz vocalists

It's WWII and Lettie, a young mixed-raced girl from London, is sent to the countryside for safety where she faces her own battles with a strict new guardian and a very "fowl" goose.

"Rapunzel Alone" is a new family-friendly play from 24th Street Theatre, known for creating sophisticated theatre that appeals to kids and adults alike, and the brilliant British playwright Mike Kenny. The story is an adaptation of the fairytale "Rapunzel" in response to the huge rise in the feeling of isolation among teens.

Gather the family for this tale of resilience and self-discovery. Recommended for ages 7+. March 12 - 19: TheWallis.org/Rapunzel

Just three days left to see RECKONING - A Short Play Festival!

"These short plays and texts average 6 to 12 minutes in length, and it’s amazing to see how cleverly the writers have been able to explore complex social issues in such a short amount of time. They offer us humorous and playful commentary, stark warnings, and joyful meditations on what it means to be human." - Madeleine Dahm, Director

$25.00 today for 16 ounces of water and this cookie. Please tell the guy selling this to me in the bar was wrong. I asked and he repeated the price. If I hadn’t the taken a bite of the cookie and opened the bottle before he told me the price I would have canceled the order. What say you Wallis?

Waiting for the house doors to open, the lobby has literally 2 benches that hold three people each. Outside is raining and I just paid $4 for a very weak cup of coffee (glad I didn’t order the decaf). Not a good start. Productions are regularly good. I’m sure I won’t be disappointed by this “An Inspector Calls.”
Merry Christmas Sandra Don

I was thrown out in 2015 form Sycamore and Melrose by the Housing Authority after 20 years and The Geffen built it's own beachfront property there and I went homeless towards you all and sometimes stayed on Charleville... I believe Trump putting the Wall between Mexico and America is going to bring a greater threat to America than the 10 years that the Mexican Fences brought at 911 as a result of the bloodshed against so many mexican and hispanics trying to cross the Rio Grande and the fences. 4 years after the fence an attempt to blow up the WTC happened and from the foundation stone of Trump's wall will bring threats as the fences have done so...the danger is as the Mexican Brown Bear is on the endangered species list because of fences that should be pieced and should go to Latin and hispanic Presidential libraries throughout South and central America as a reminder like the pieces of the Berlin Wall have done. The Wallis Annenberg's facade replicated to get you guys on Trump's side...subliminally.
