Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre The mission of Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre is to promote the spirit and teachings of Judaism through music, art, drama & film.

The unique approach of religion through music, drama, art, film, and dance encompasses artists with diverse backgrounds to create new expressions of Jewish worship. It results in a heightened experience, easily accessed by people of any background. The vision of its founding Rabbi, David Baron, who pioneered the fusion of religion through music, drama and dance, Temple of the Arts, at the 1900-seat restored Art-Deco Saban Theatre is the largest arts synagogue in the United States.

On Friday, March 27 at 7:30 PM Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre in Beverly
Hills presents the “Shared Heritage of Freedom” Shabbat service featuring the Greater Zion
Gospel Choir. This service is free and open to the public. The service celebrating the “Shared
Heritage of Freedom” of the Jewish and African-American communities will feature the
documentary film “Shared Legacies, the African American Jewish Civil Rights Alliance”. It
details the early civil rights movement and how Jewish and African-American leaders linked
arms to battle bigotry and racism.

After the film, Dr. Benjamin Chavis, veteran civil rights leader, educator and author will
speak. This will be followed by a joyous evening of music and worship led by Rabbi David
Baron with special guest Pastor Michael Fisher of the Greater Zion Community Church and
his 30 voice gospel choir from Compton. To RSVP email [email protected]
