I was very honored to paint this commission as a farewell to the Army gift. I have previously painted several of this couple’s other homes as they moved through military assignments. After 38 years, he has retired and this is their FOREVER home!! So now their collection of home portraits is complete! Best wishes to the McDwyers!

I finished this home portrait a little while ago. It was a commissioned piece for Mrs. Morri Landes, the wife of the soon-to-be retiring First Army commander. This is Quarters Six on Rock Island Arsenal and the third time I’ve painted it for the outgoing spouse. It was my honor and pleasure to get to know Morri during her time here and we are sad to see them go!

One of my dear military friends is moving on 😭 This is always so bittersweet to say so long once again. She and her husband are off to a new fabulous adventure. I’m happy for them, but will miss her! I was honored to paint their historical Rock Island Arsenal home, including their pups on the porch, as a farewell gift. First Army 💜

Double the fun! The commission I’ve been working on the past few weeks was for two sets of two identical paintings. First up is the market! I don’t think I’ve painted a store before, much less two! I did these simultaneously so all color mixing would match and details inked would be the same. Faster than I expected to do it this way.
