PearlArts and STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos are excited to announce the addition of the dance calendar pittsburgh to our home site! The dance calendar pittsburgh, originally inspired by movement artists Dana LaSota and Steven Weisz, has been under the direction of Jessica Marino Mitcham and the JAM Press Team for the last 5 years (2017-2022). We are beyond excited and honored to acquire this network and carry out the legacy that is the dance pittsburgh calendar.

What to expect from the dance calendar pittsburgh: PearlArts will facilitate monthly updates on all things dance in Pittsburgh! From events and concerts to upcoming classes, The dance calendar pittsburgh will be sent out via E-blast monthly to keep you up to date with the latest in our community. Audition Call!

**STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos is seeking 1-2 highly-skilled dancers for upcoming seasons.**

Contracts include training, rehearsals, performances, and teaching. Please review our website to learn more about

THANK YOU FOR A MEMORABLE RUN! There are so many to thank for this experience and process.

We would like to begin by thanking the dancers, LaTrea, Jessica, Chandler, Raven and Lindsay, whose creative voices are huge throughout this work. We are grateful for their generosity, patience and virtuosity. Thank you to our administrative team, Ally, Simon, Layne who keep us organized and well seen. Thank you to the vocalists and producers, the designers, and the stage crew.

An extra special thank you to the two presenting organizations Janis Burley Wilson and the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, and Joseph Hall and the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater and their colleagues. We have been so well cared for first in our mutual-aid and technical residency at the Kelly-Strayhorn, then in production here at the lovely AWAACC. This process and planning started a year ago, during a time of complete uncertainty. Thank you for trusting us and making space and time for us to practice and share what we do. Janis and Joseph, we see you and commend you. We thank you for all you bring to this city and beyond, and we recognize the extra work it takes to run a successful Black Arts Organization. Bravo. Finally, we are sad yet excited for the next chapter in the lives of two who have given us so much over the years.

Kitoko Chargois, thank you for wearing so many hats, helping create systems and beautifully photographing our work. We wish you the best in all your endeavors. Jessica, where to begin. CIRCLES is a full-length dance work celebrating . Layering dance, visual arts, and a live original score, the work presents snapshots of popular culture through Choreographer Staycee Pearl’s lens as a Black woman. With an ensemble of five dancers, CIRCLES is a colorful, unapologetic, and daring path to self-reclamation. CIRCLES is amplified by an original soundtrack created by Herman “Soy Sos” Pearl in collaboration with a diverse roster of club artists.

Immerse yourself in the accompanying CIRCLES: reclamation art exhibit featuring Black visual artists including Staycee Pearl, Bekezela Mguni, Kitoko Chargois, and sarah huny young. Works will draw from their shared explorations of Blackness and self-reclamation.
