Emerge Theatre Co. was sparked by a strong desire to see more POC creatives represented on stages, on screens, and in classrooms.
We produced our first work in April 2018 in Torez’s 3rd floor bedroom. We created an immersive, site- specific, bedroom play. Our audiences were limited to 15 people, which led to an experience that was intimate and magical. Our audiences offered us insight and ideas for community outreach and artistic inclusivity. Now, we feel prepared to begin a season of shows that are edgy, fresh, and engaging.
Emerge Theatre Company is a catalyst for Arts and Culture in the Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, and beyond. Our mission is to uplift our community, embrace diversity, and encourage social change through producing high quality art and providing artistic opportunities. We are artists of many mediums, and we intend to use music, poetry, acting, dancing, and more! Got ideas? We want to collaborate!
