The Bach Choir of Bethlehem The Bach Choir of Bethlehem is the oldest Bach choir in America, founded in 1898. They will celebrate the 113th Bethlehem Bach Festival in May 2021.

The Bach Choir of Bethlehem is the oldest Bach choir in the United States, founded in 1898. They were the first Choir to perform both Bach's Mass in B Minor and Christmas Oratorio in this country more than 100 years ago.

Paid Opportunity: Bach at Noon Stage Assistance

The Bach Choir of Bethlehem is seeking two to three dependable people to assist with stage setup and teardown for our fall Bach at Noon concerts at Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem.

Pay: $120 per concert
• $60 for Monday setup, approximately 1 to 1.5 hours
• $60 for Tuesday teardown, approximately 1 to 1.5 hours

Dates and times:
• September 7, 10–11 a.m., and September 8, 1:30–2:30 p.m.
• October 12, 10–11 a.m., and October 13, 1:30–2:30 p.m.
• November 9, 10–11 a.m., and November 10, 1:30–2:30 p.m.

Duties include moving and assembling choir risers, rearranging furniture and platforms, setting up orchestra chairs and music stands, and assisting with the careful movement of instruments when needed.

Applicants must be reliable and able to help lift and move heavy furniture and choir risers safely.

The last session of our Summer PD Series is this WEDNESDAY, JULY 29 for a "Tune Up Your Choral Conducting" workshop with The Bach Choir of Bethlehem's own Dr. Christopher Jackson, and there's still time to join us. Though geared towards music educators, all are welcome to attend! This interactive session gives participants the opportunity to bring questions, receive feedback on conducting challenges, and work with other choral professionals!

Calling all high school and college singers!

Looking for a way to keep making great music while you’re in school? The Bach Choir of Bethlehem’s Choral Scholar Program gives you the chance to perform alongside one of the country’s premier auditioned choirs, work with outstanding guest artists, connect with experienced musicians, and gain valuable performance experience that can help wherever music takes you next.

We’re still scheduling auditions, and there are appointment slots available on July 31, August 1, August 14, and August 15. We’d love to meet you and hear you sing!
