A very nice 19th century sampler by Sarah Millington wrought in 1839. She was an accomplished stitcher as is evidenced by her work. The sampler is stitched on a very high quality, fine, paper-thin linen with silk threads. There are rows of letters and numbers, as well as a couple of borders, at the top, followed by a lovely “Friendship” poem. Below are motifs of plants, flowers, baskets, birds and animals, crowns and a pavilion or a gazebo on the bottom. Floral border on all four sides.

I've always had a soft spot for antique Palais Royale needlework boxes, like this one. Each of them is a miniature masterpiece. Not only are the tools of the highest quality, but the box itself is a concoction of silk, velvet and ribbons, almost like a theater stage. Each box was crafted individually and was meant to impress with its quality and price. France, 19th century. From the exhibit at the Durasov Palace in Moscow, Russia.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is an amazing Berlin woolwork picture. Stitched mostly in wool, the Russian lady who did this work used tiny white beads to make the dog's coat shine and give it movement. This was a lady, as she stitched "Souvenir" in French and her initials, BT, in gold metal beads popular in the 19th century. Dated 1832.
