Werring Contemporary and 1040 Creative are proud to collaborate in bringing Hold the Line to the public this season, featuring powerful work by Artists Chuck Styles, Serena Saunders, Alloyius McIlwaine, and 1040 Creative founder and director Pauline Houston-McCall.

Emerging in response to ongoing attempts to revise, obscure, or erase our shared history, Hold the Line reflects on the urgent need to preserve culture, lineage, and memory. At a moment when monuments fall and historical narratives are challenged, this exhibition stands as a reminder that our stories must be protected, carried forward, and remembered.

To join us for the opening reception on June 5th, 2026 and to learn more about our Juneteenth celebration, please email us at https://www.werringcontemporary.com/contact.

“PRO TEST” by Chuck Styles (2025). Acrylic on canvas, 30 x 30 in.

Layered, luminous, and alive with movement, these multimedia collage works by artist Brian David Dennis transform material into rhythm. Through dynamic combinations of metallic surfaces, painted textures, saturated color, and vertical composition, Dennis creates works that are architectural and emotionally charged.

Visit the gallery to experience the vibrancy and material language of Dennis firsthand in our current exhibition CHROMA, on view now through June 7th, 2026. https://www.werringcontemporary.com/currentexhibitions

We invite you to experience them in person now through June 7th, 2026 in our current exhibition, CHROMA (visit https://www.werringcontemporary.com/currentexhibitions for details).
