And a warm welcome to our new Choral Director!

Ms. Kristi Snarsky is a Clarke County native (CCHS class of 2010) who has returned to Virginia after a decade of teaching & learning in Massachusetts.

As a CCHS student, Ms. Snarsky was an active member in nearly every musical ensemble, from chamber choir to indoor drumline (and everything in between!). After graduating, Ms. Snarsky continued her musical education at Berklee College of Music (B.M. Music Education, 2013), UVA (M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction, 2014), and Harvard University (Ed.M. Arts in Education, 2020). In addition to studying education, Ms. Snarsky was involved with both collegiate instrumental as well as vocal ensembles—most recently, she performed on tour in Puerto Rico with the historic Harvard women’s choir, the Radcliffe Choral Society.

As a teacher, Ms. Snarsky has worked with students of all ages, abilities, & backgrounds as a music specialist and director in Boston Public Schools. After 7 years with BPS, Ms. Snarsky seized the opportunity to relocate (along with her husband, also a teacher, & three cats) to Clarke in order to be closer to her family & to work with the hometown music program she knew & loved.

Above all, Ms. Snarsky is looking forward to continuing the great creative work of the Clarke choral program, where she intends to make a welcoming & inclusive space for all singers to find their voice.

We are excited to announce that we will be permitting an extremely limited in person audience for our May 13 concert!! Chamber Choir will be performing live and will be permitted 2 people per student. If you would like to have more people there to support your student, please email me as I believe there will be some wiggle room with this. The concert will also be live-streamed so if you can't be there in person you won't miss it! The students having been working hard despite the circumstances and we are excited for them to be able to share it with you.

Tomorrow chamber choir will be picking back up with in person rehearsals from 2:00-3:15! If you have students involved, please try to have them there 5 minutes before.

All-VA Choirs are still happening and doing great work! We would like to congratulate Charles, a member of CCHS Chamber Choir for making All-VA Senior Honor Choir. This competitive group had to audition virtually, attend virtual rehearsals for 3 consecutive weekends, and record their parts remotely.
