The Fuzzy EAR is a small rabbitry in the middle peninsula of Virginia. They raise French Angora and French Lop rabbits. They provide animal assisted (rabbit) therapy to local nursing homes, schools, fiber festivals and on the streets. Peter and Lorraine have been doing this since 2013 while continuing to work their full-time jobs for other companies. They have a published children’s story book about an English Angora Rabbit. Cece Hops Again is an uplifting story about an English Angora rabbit who was rehabilitated after suffering a brain infection.

Tempted by spinning but not sure a regular wheel’s for you? Intrigued by the idea of making just the yarn you want but not sure where you’d put a wheel if you had one? Feet/knees not doing what you want as painlessly as they used to, making the whole treadling part of wheel spinning look less than fun? Then it’s time to check out the world of e-spinners! In this experiential, process-oriented class, you’ll take a guided tour of 12+ e-spinners, learning how they resemble and differ from both one another and their acoustic brethren. You’ll also get your hands on several of them for a little spinning experimentation, getting a sense of what does and doesn’t work for you. E-spinners are tabletop-friendly, juiced up and ready to go–you might discover one that’s just right for you!

Wendy first saw tatting at her county fair many years ago and has been inspired to enter her own pieces ever since, including the shamrock doily featured here at this year's MD State Fair. She loves designing both whimsical and elegant pieces, and since they're lace, even the larger ones stay comfortably lightweight. Stop by her booth for a quick demonstration of this classic lacemaking technique.
