The Mamalogues

The Mamalogues The Mamalogues is a staged reading featuring original stories performed by the women who wrote them. Welcome to the Mamalogues information page. What is it?

The Mamalogues was created in 2012 by Noelle Gunn Elliott when she saw the need for women created, directed and produced theater. With the outstanding success of the first show, she partnered with Kate Knopick Coates and took her on as the Artistic Director. Since then the success has grown and sold out every performance. The next show will take place on July 31, 2025 at The Brick, South Bend. Tic

kets will go on sale closer to the date. The following are FAQ. The Mamalogues is a staged reading presenting original works written and read by the author. What are the readings about? Anything you want it to be. Most of the stories are humorous, but some are not. All we ask is that the story is truthful, and from the heart. Who can participate in the Mamalogues? Any woman. The term "mama" is a general reference to women. You don't need to be a mother to be in the show. No previous theater experience needed. Most of our best presenters came from women who had never written or been on stage before. How do I submit? When the announcement is made that we are accepting submissions, please send your original piece in a word document to the following email. [email protected] It should be between 5-10 minutes when read out loud. We love fresh and somewhat taboo topics. Does everyone who submits get to be in the show? Unfortunately, not. The readings need to come together to create an experience. Sometimes subject matter doesn't fit with the show as a whole. That doesn't mean we don't like the story. And we encourage you to submit again the following year. Where to the proceeds go? Each year we chose a charity to donate the proceeds from the tickets sales. Overall we have donated over $10,000to local charities. Including the YWCA, Angel of Hope, 525 Foundation, Polite Tumor, Dining for Women, and the JWAS foundation. Is there video of the show? No, and this is intentional. The purpose of the show is to experience theatrical spoken word in an intimate setting. It is a unique experience and you just have to be there. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to email us. And remember to follow The Mamalogues page for the latest news and information.

Her sudden death has made me incredibly sad.
Not because I knew her. I didn’t. And not because I was a huge fan of her work.
I’m sad because I admired her for speaking openly about her struggles with postpartum depression.

I’ve spoken openly about the fact that The Mamalogues was created from the depths of my own struggles. It came from a very real and very difficult place in my life. And that experience taught me how important it is to be honest about the things we don’t always feel comfortable talking about.

Because the truth is, we never really know what someone else is carrying.

We can look at someone from the outside and have absolutely no idea what is happening inside.

I don’t know her story beyond what she chose to share. I would never pretend to.

I only know that I’m deeply saddened by her death, and especially for her family and the people who loved her.

I hope she is at peace.

And I hope we continue to make it easier for people to talk about the hard things — because sometimes simply knowing that someone else understands can mean more than we realize.

Five guys. 7 random questions about me.

You see the Mamalogues. You see the stage, the stories, the women.

But behind the scenes, there’s a very patient group of men who have to live with me. 😂

So I decided to test them.

5 guys. 7 random questions about me.

How well do they actually know me?

I’ll let you decide. 😂

The Mamalogues may be my thing, but it definitely doesn’t happen by myself. ❤️
