Well folks. Summer has ended! We're still here, we just took a hiatus from social media to do what we're all meant to do, and that's enjoy life and awesome weather! Besides a lot of camping and hiking, fishing and music and preparing for winter months, we've been doing a lot of custom orders to keep the hands and minds occupied. There are a few new items we'll be adding to the Etsy store to go along with what's there already. I hope you've all been out adventuring and living. Always remember, memories and stories are what's important to leave behind, so make em good! 🤙🤙

We enjoy making things that are functional, comfortable and have a look that no one would bat an eye if you'd get launched back in time 150 years or so. Why? Who knows. The anesthetic is appealing. 🤷‍♂️
The styles were better?
Either way.... It's always a fun time making and also using the things we make. 🤙 The Georgia Traveler was the first bag type that I ever designed and made. Still my favorite.

We were so happy with the quality of the first batch of shirts that we decided to design another! We're not big fans of crazy things. So we try to keep everything simple and to the point. Just like the design of this shirt!

These shirts are soft and durable and fit true to size. So show your love of the outdoors every time you walk out your door...or while your binging Netflix.

Ladies and gentlemen...we are conducting an experiment here in our little bubble. I personally have a difficult time finding t-shirts and hoodies that I want to wear. So as my mind works I thought...why not see if I can design some. 🤷‍♂️
The company we're going through source their products from vendors who are WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certified and 100 percent "sweat-free". You, our favorite people, shall be the test subjects. If it goes well, we'll find ourselves an all "made in USA" route. 🤙
Now...I have to go figure out how to post this to Instagram. Have I mentioned I have a love/hate relationship with technology?

When we say that nearly every part of what we make is done by hand, we mean that quite literally. From cutting strapping to holes punched to rivets being set. A few Singers speed the sewing, including one old work horse that gets utilized. 🤙

One of my personal favorite things about working with raw canvas is the waxing/waterproofing. I suppose it's probably a sensory throwback to when we were kids and would coat our hands in Elmer's glue so we could peal it off 🤷‍♂️ Some manufacturers purchase pre-treated canvas. Which would definitely save on time. But this is just a little bit more personal, not to mention a bit more satisfying. 🤙

The first Ridgerunner prototype ever made. This pack comes along on just about every adventure I have. I hook caribiners to the side lash points to carry things like my fishing net, tools and other misc. Items. It's been submerge a time or two when I unwittingly stepped into some deep holes while wading creeks. The versatility and durability of waxed canvas really can't be beat. Get out there, folks! A whole world awaits! 🤙

OK, folks! As we all know, prime hiking, camping and kayaking weather is upon us! Our buddy Mark Kurtis Jr. is an excellent story teller. A prolific web weaver of titillating tales, if you will. It'll gives you goose bumps on those isolated nights by the campfire in the deep woods. 🤙🤙

We had a question from a customer awhile back. "If your wax canvas bags are water resistant, why do you put a drain hole in the bottom of them?"

When I first started making these, I didn't put the drain holes in. Back when I was making them solely for my own use. A kayaking trip down a river and going off a decent drop that filled my kayak with water quickly taught me that drain ports are highly necessary! 😂
I had my own "River Rat" duffel packed with the necessities. Snacks, first aid kit, water etc. While our packs and bags are meant to stand a rain storm, snow storm, partial dunking.... They are not one hundred percent water tight. Obviously... And with being waxed canvas, once my duffel filled with water from being submerged, it was turned into a quaint, old school canvas bucket. 🤦‍♂️
As I sat there on the river bank removing my items so I could dump all the water out of the bag, it became apparent that a drain port was most definitely necessary.

So, there's the answer to that particular query. 🤙🤙Happy adventuring!

I'm going to do a little post here about hats. Because we've now got quite a few hat makers following the page. Who do excellent work and if I could I'd buy a few from all of em. I bought this hat about sixteen years ago from . It's been through the ringer, and at some point I cut the sweat band out because my brain must have grown. 🧐 You really cannot go wrong in spending the money on a good hat. Especially if you spend alot of time out doors. Not to mention the style aspect of a well made hat! I'm seeing a growing number of folks getting into making these head warmers and skull toppers, so please check them all out! I would tag all of you, but my memory doesn't run quite that far. So feel free to comment and put your info. 🤙🤙

We've added something new to the shop! Born mostly out of being tired of rooting for loose wrenches. 🤷‍♂️ We love utility rolls around here. For everything from writing apparatus to pipe storage. This one is specifically to ease the frustration of loose tools rolling around!
