I'm sure we will have many brilliant photos from yesterday's revelry shortly, but as we were out and about collecting posters from around town today, we couldn't help but feel immense gratitude. So here goes:
Thank you to every artist that donated their time and skills to express their beauty into the air in our community. This thing we call music matters. And it should be criminal to ask for it without pay, so we really value your incredible contributions. (And we hope to be able to obtain funding in the future to mitigate this ask--you are worth it)
Thank you to our porch hosts. You opened your homes and provided platforms for the festival. It is not PorchFest without porches. And you came through!
Thank you to every person who provided sound systems again on a volunteer basis! You allowed music to be heard by the greater community. (One such group being Medallion Opera House, Thanks!)
Thank you to St. Kieran's for allowing us to share your space for the block party in the evening. What a brilliant venue for a closing party.
Thank you to Starkey Productions for again volunteering your time and your gear to the block party stage. Sound and lights were brilliant because of you.
Thank you to Dragonfly Repair and Remodel for your donated time and resources to secure the stage and provide safety for all as we again built a trailer into a solid stage. :)
Thank you to The Community Builders Hub and Berlin Main Street Programs for all of your donations in making the event possible.
Thank you to Tree City Arts in providing a springboard for us to keep this amazing program going.
Thank you to the Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce for always offering help in promotion! You go above and beyond in community events.
Thank you to Go Time for providing options for bathroom use. The unsung and important things. ;)
And big big thank you to every person who came out to support. You proved again this year that Berlin and the greater community cares about supporting local arts. Showing up matters more than you know. If you keep coming, we will keep doing this. :)
If anyone at all is interested in being more of a part of the workings of Berlin PorchFest for pop-up shows or annual events in the future, please let us know.
