We wanted to share some amazing news!
Over the last six months, Remember Me Glass has been preparing to enter the Shore Hatchery competition through Salisbury University. We submitted our business plan, made it to the finals, and presented in front of a live panel of judges, explaining how our business works, our detailed business plan, and our path to growth moving forward. After all the finalists had presented and the judges had made their decisions, Remember Me Glass came out on top! We received a $35,000 grant that will allow us to continue growing and building our brand for the future.
We want to thank everyone who has been a customer and helped spread the word about our products. We also want to thank Salisbury University, the Ratcliffe Foundation, and Perdue for this amazing opportunity.
A little background on this wonderful competition: The Shore Hatchery Competition is a bi-annual Mid-Atlantic business competition open to Mid-Atlantic business startups. The program assists entrepreneurs in creating new businesses and jobs in the region. Startups apply for a share of approximately $200,000 in grants awarded annually. The goal of the Shore Hatchery is to reward individuals for their entrepreneurial efforts in creating and growing businesses that have the potential to positively impact regional employment within three years. Participating businesses are required to report back to the Shore Hatchery board annually on their progress.
To enter, businesses complete an online application and submit a full business plan and financials. All submissions are reviewed by the Entrepreneurship Team, which then selects a list of top applicants to compete. Competitors participate in a two-part event: an exhibit-style tradeshow in the morning and a pitch competition in the afternoon. Submissions are judged by a panel of business and community leaders.
