Friends of the Berlin Aquatic Center Friends of the Berlin Aquatic Center was formed by members of the Berlin community after learning that the pool was in danger of closing.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that the BAC remains a vibrant and inclusive hub for community activities.

Meeting Minutes for February 16, 2026

The Friends of the Berlin Aquatic Center, Berlin, WI is Called to Order 6:00 February 16, 2026, by Victoria Hill.
1.Roll Call:
Present: Victoria Hill, Michele Cassidy, Alayne Weingartz
Absent: Barry Abbott
Also Present: Terri Mauel, Beth Sass, Lori
2.General Public Comments: None
3. Approval of the minutes:
A motion was made by Michele to approve the minutes of the Dec. 8 Meeting. Seconded by Victoria. The motion
carried.
4. Discussion surrounding the ByLaws and the continued absence of the Vice President, Barry Abbot resulted in a
motion by Michele Cassidy to dismiss Barry Abbott as VP of the FOTBAC according to the governing ByLaws.
Seconded by Victoria Hill. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Michele Cassidy to appoint Terry Mauel as a Voting Member. Seconded by Alayne
Weingartz. The motion carried. Discussion around VP absence. Michele would be willing to move up to VP if
someone would like to take over as Secretary. Still have the Treasurer role vacant.
5. Review of Support Request Packets
The order of the items to be included in the packets were reviewed and approved by the whole body. A note was
added that the LOI should be blunt about needing to show the city our financial support.
6. Organize Outreach efforts
Many possible outreach locations were discussed but the consensus was to bring the completed packets to the
next meeting and then decide which of us will reach out to whom of the following:
Fortifi, Farmers, ThedaCare, Lions Club, Kiwanis, Jim Thoma (AIS) Todd & Jan Huggins, Sondalle Motors, West
Side, Ripon Athletic, Flash Trucking, Tractor Supply, Generac, Boys and Girls Club, Miller Natatorium, Waste
Management, Alliant Energy, Northern Express, Aurora, Violet & Co., Thrivent, All-In-One Insurance, Beiser Realty,
Walker Insurance, Angie Evans (GLC)
7. New Business
We will continue to discuss Advertisement opportunities, Articles, and outreach.
9. Old Business
Need to continue to work on our financial audit.
10. Adjourn
A motion to adjourn was made at 7:28 PM by Michele Cassidy and seconded by Alayne Weingartz. The motion
carries. Next meeting is March 16, 2026 at 6PM at the Berlin Public Library.

It’s not glorious, but the new Board have revamped our Bylaws and nailed down a strategic plan!

We are anxious for more people to join the cause!

Meetings have moved to the third Monday at 6PM starting in January. Come on down and be a part of this historic effort!

3. Approval of the minutes:

No minutes were available from the prior meeting.

3. Review and Approval of Monthly Expenditure and Revenue Accounts:

Accounts are being reviewed/audited and will be available upon completion. Expected
time of completion, one month.

Public Appearances: None

4. Accept Nominations for Treasurer and Voting Members
No nominations were put forth. Carry on to next Agenda

5. Review of Christmas Tree and Christmas Parade dates and upcoming working sessions:
All items except the candy are ready for the Tree at Nathan Strong Park. We will do our first decorating session on Thursday, November 6th at 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM to add lights, topper, and fringe. A second tentative date is set for Nov. 12th.
The Key Club is meeting to determine if they would like to help us pass out candy at the parade. We will have kid cards and adult cards. We still need to order the cards themselves and then arrange a working party to put everything together.

6. Review and Edit Bylaws
Bylaws were reviewed and edited and will be retyped and disseminated for approval.

7. Review Support-Request-Packets
Tabled to the next meeting

8. New Business
Need to create sign-in sheets for our meetings.

9. Old Business
Need to work on our financial audit.

10. Adjourn
A motion to adjourn was made at 7:10 PM by Michelle Cassidy and seconded by Victoria Hill. The motion carries. Next Meeting is December 1st, 2025 at 6PM at the Berlin Public Library.
