🌎🏆 YMCO RECEIVES THE 2026 GLOBAL CITIZEN AWARD! 🏆🌎

We are thrilled to announce that Young Musicians Choral Orchestra™ (YMCO) has been selected by the United Nations Association-USA East Bay to receive the 2026 Global Citizen Award! 🎉

This year’s theme, “Youth Transforming the World: Vision, Unity, and Leadership,” reflects our mission to empower young people through music, academic support, and mentorship.

We are honored to be recognized for our commitment to nurturing confident, disciplined, and compassionate young leaders. ❤️🎶

Thank you to UNA-USA East Bay and to our students, families, faculty, staff, and supporters for being part of the YMCO family. Together, we continue to use the power of music and education to inspire hope and create positive change!

A show-stopping moment from our YMCO Goes to the Movies concert! 🎶

Our R&B Combo lit up the stage with an electrifying medley from The Wiz, arranged by none other than YMCO alumna Nimah Rowden.

At just 21 years old, Nimah continues to inspire the next generation of musicians- not only as a talented performer, but as an arranger and mentor. We are so proud to see our alumni giving back and shaping the future of YMCO.

Bravo to our incredible R&B Combo for bringing so much energy, soul, and musicianship to this unforgettable performance! 💛🎶

What an amazing way to wrap up our 2026 YMCO Summer Institute! 🎬🎶

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for today’s final Summer Institute concert, YMCO Goes to the Movies. Your tremendous support, encouragement, and roaring mom applause mean the world to our young musicians.

To our incredible students- thank you for six weeks of dedication, hard work, and unforgettable memories. To our faculty, staff, volunteers, families, and donors- thank you for making this summer possible. This program wouldn’t exist without your unwavering commitment and generosity.

Congratulations to all of our performers on an amazing summer, and thank you for celebrating this special evening with us. We can’t wait to see you again in the Fall! 💙🎻🎤🎺

🎶 Thank you to everyone who joined us for today’s 2026 Vocal Extravaganza! We are so grateful for the incredible support as our talented singers shared an afternoon of beautiful music, unforgettable moments, and inspiring performances. ❤️💙

But the music isn’t over yet! 🎬✨ Join us this Thursday, July 16 for our YMCO Goes to the Movies Final Concert, featuring our full Summer Institute students performing music inspired by some of your favorite films.

A heartfelt thank you to Dean Daniel Washington for spending the past week with our YMCO students and sharing his incredible knowledge, artistry, and passion for music.

Today, our vocal students had the privilege of learning from him during an inspiring master class filled with invaluable insights, encouragement, and musical excellence. As an internationally acclaimed bass-baritone, educator, and mentor, Dean Washington has inspired singers around the world, and we are so grateful he chose to invest his time in our young artists.

Yesterday, we were seeing double- sometimes even triple or quadruple! 👯

Spirit Week kept the fun going with Twin Day / Dynamic Duo Day! From matching outfits to iconic pairings, our students and staff showed up with plenty of creativity and team spirit.

Music is always better together and yesterday was a great reminder of that. 🎶💙
