"When you go to see (and you should) be prepared for a serious “radical feminist” romp that packs a punch into a fast paced 90 minutes by a talented cast.

The play is almost a perfect vehicle reflecting the actions of the feminist movement and relatively recent enthusiasm for tearing down statues of questionable heroes. The questionable hero is Mahatma Gandhi whose memorial statue is located on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. The world mostly believes the altruistic personae who preached the philosophy of non-violence that eventually led to India’s independent status.
However the protagonists in are fully aware of a dark side of Gandhi as a misogynist/racist.

Within the seriousness projected by the play there is a great deal of humor," Kedar Adour said.

Say hello to actor Patricia Silver!

Silver is a charter member Word For Word since its inception in 1993. Her first story was THERE IS A GARDEN OF EDEN by Ellen Gilchrist, followed by XINGU (Edith Wharton) and at least 20 others including many for the school and library tours, and also the France tours. She is best remembered for Olive in OLIVE KITTERIDGE by Elizabeth Strout. Recently she appeared in AlterTheater's LANDLESS by Larissa Fast Horse and in the Deb Slater Dance Theatre production of LINE OF BEAUTY, with two spectacular dancers and poems by Jane Hirshfield. She spent her youth with the San Francisco Mime Troupe touring parks, the USA, and Europe.
