The Persian Center is a non profit charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) located in a 3 story facility in the heart of beautiful Berkeley, California. The building is a California preserved landmark and Persian Center's application to base it's first operation from this historic building was overwhelmingly approved by the Berkeley city council. feet, it houses a large reading room librar

y, an exhibit room for permanent and visiting art, 3 furnished formal reception rooms, 5 networked computers with internet access (high quality Persian word processing available), and of course a full kitchen and food preparation area! With easy access by car, BART and other public transportation, as well as the enthusiastic welcome offered by the City of Berkeley (many cities rejected similar applications for a center), this location was determined to be the most acceptable and convenient location to base the Persian Center's first property investment. All donations to Persian Center are tax deductible as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.

In light of the ongoing challenges impacting members of our community, many students and alumni are facing unexpected financial hardship due to circumstances beyond their control. For many, this includes difficulty covering living expenses such as rent, groceries, medical care, and other essential necessities.

To support those navigating these circumstances, we have established the ISC Student & Alumni Emergency Fund, a community-driven initiative created to provide short-term emergency assistance to individuals facing immediate financial need.

This fund is made possible entirely through your generosity. Every donation directly supports students and alumni facing financial hardship, helping provide stability and relief during this difficult time. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” —Martin Luther King Jr.

Persian Center stands in solidarity with the courageous people of Iran, who, with bare hands and iron will, continue to fight for basic human rights that transcend religion, politics, and geography: clean air and water, personal safety, women’s rights, and the economic stability needed to live with dignity.

We unequivicolly condemn all violence against Iranians seeking these freedoms.

We salute the power, resilience, and moral clarity of Iran’s young generation—rising to shape history with bravery, conviction, and an enduring belief in a better future. Empires rise and fall, hardships come and go, yet the spirit of the Iranian people endures. Today, we honor that spirit.
