With a heavy heart we are sharing that legendary performer Tim Curry passed away at 80 years old.

This hits close to home for us at The UC Theatre as it’s been an honor for us to host ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ for over 40 years. Curry’s once-in-a-lifetime performance of the cross-dressing mad scientist, Dr. Frank N. Furter, revolutionized how the LGBTQ+ community was portrayed in mainstream media. This beautifully blasphemous portrayal helped introduce an empowered representation of the q***r identity to the world. His character defied all societal gender norms and inspired entire generations to embrace their authentic selves.

Tim Curry was a star of the screen, from Stephen King’s ‘It’ as a villainous clown, Wadsworth the butler from the cult classic ‘Clue’, and countless roles on Broadway. He went on to receive multiple Emmy, Grammy, and Tony awards and nominations spanning across his decades-long career. All of this has cemented his status as an icon in the entertainment universe.

JUST ANNOUNCED — Rexx Life Raj - Father Figure 10 Year Anniversary(10/17)

Rexx Life Raj has spent ten years proving an artist can build it all on his own terms: the catalog, the audience, the story. From Berkeley, without a major label, he has built a catalog with more than 500 million streams, headlined tours nationwide, and developed one of the most engaged direct-to-fan communities in independent music.

His collaborators include Kehlani, E-40, Russ, Kenny Beats, and Larry June. His model is his own. For artists trying to build sustainable careers without giving themselves away, Raj is what the finished blueprint looks like.
