Dear friends and supporters of The Song of Songs Minyan:
We are very pleased to announce our next Shir Hashirim gatherings for this Winter and Spring, those being February 14 (Valentine's Day) and May 8th - the 2nd Friday nights in February and May.
February 14th will feature maestra violinist Lila Sklar,, woodwinds genius Sheldon Brown, and percussion master Faisal Zeydan et al.
We are still in need of funding in order to continue into the second half of 2020, which we would LOVE to do !! Our door contributions are wonderful, but still don't cover our total expenses for bringing these unique evenings to the public. Please see and consider our tax-free online "Network for Good" Online Donation Page link at the bottom of this announcement!
Please spread the word, and we hope to see you soon !!
To The Love Supreme ...
A very thankful Hazzan Richard Kaplan

Welcome All!
The Shir Hashirim Community returns for what have been embraced over the past 23 years as "utterly unique and universally-oriented" Sabbath gatherings. Attracting participants from diverse communities far and wide, Shir Hashirim offers spiritual modalities that "plumb the depths" via contemplative chant, mantra, musical meditation, zikr, poetry, and storytelling.
Join us as we update, metaphorize, and integrate ancient traditions, while honoring contemporary breakthroughs in global wisdom culture and cutting-edge science.
We meet at 7:30pm on the second Friday night of a given month at:
The Jewish Community Center of the East Bay,
1414 Walnut Street (between Rose and Vine Streets), Berkeley, California, 94709
Fall 2019 dates:
February 14
May 8
Shir Hashirim evenings are co-ordinated by Cantor Richard Kaplan,
and feature master musicians and poets from throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
