My heart is so full!!

To everyone who has reached out asking how you can help with Christmas in Bath, WV—thank you! It truly takes a community to make Christmas magic.

Our goal is simple: provide free activities, treats, entertainment, and experiences so every child has the opportunity to feel the magic of Christmas. At the same time, we’re bringing our community together and supporting the local businesses and artisans that make Bath so special.

There are plenty of ways to help make spirits bright—from sponsoring the Ice Rink, Kids’ Korner, Passport Program, entertainment, food, activities, contests or prizes to donating supplies, services, funds, or your time. Businesses can also join the fun as a Passport Stop by offering a free activity or treat for kids.

No contribution is too big or too small. Christmas in Bath takes a village—or perhaps an entire team of elves—and we’re making the magic together.

Well… apparently my new job comes with trips to the North Pole!

This past weekend, I made the journey to Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole to obtain the official books for this year’s Christmas events. As I head into my first year as Event Director for the Ice Rink & Christmas Market, I’m quickly learning there’s a little more paperwork involved in making spirits bright than I anticipated.

You may have noticed a change this year, too. What began as the Bath WV Christmas Market has grown into Christmas in Bath, WV—and that change is very intentional.

Christmas in Bath is about much more than a market. It’s about celebrating all of the wonderful holiday events happening throughout our community and working together with local committees, organizations, businesses, and volunteers to create one merry Christmas season throughout Bath. After all, it takes more than a few elves to pull this off!

At the heart of it all are our children. Our goal is to make sure every child in our community has the opportunity to experience the Magic of Christmas, regardless of what their family can afford. From ice skating and Santa visits to crafts, games, treats, entertainment, and a few surprises still tucked up our sleeves, we want our kids to simply enjoy the season and make Christmas memories.

Every event and activity created and hosted by the Christmas in Bath Team is made possible through sponsorships and donations received through our nonprofit partnership. That generosity allows us to provide these experiences FREE for our children and families. Our sponsors aren't just helping us foot the jingle bills—they're helping create memories our kids can carry with them long after the decorations come down.

And we certainly aren't working in an elf-contained bubble. We’re collaborating with the other committees and organizations throughout town, each bringing their own traditions, events, and holiday spirit to the season. Different groups, different events, one community Christmas. Christmas in Bath is meant to celebrate and connect all of it.

It’s my first year in this role, so I’m sure there will be plenty to learn—but I’m ready to sleigh it. When an entire community comes together, there really is snow limit to the Christmas magic we can create.

And after this weekend, the official books are in hand, the North Pole has been consulted, and I’m pretty sure my Nice List status remains intact.

*To purchase a snowglobe: $20 cash only
*To purchase 2024 (wooden/local artist created)

They are handpainted with our very own Berkeley Springs gazebo and Christmas tree!!! Globe is made of glass.

Hello dear friends 🧡

I have a huge ask of my network.
With many of you that have great knowledge and connections with great interest in preserving history, our national treasure here in Berkeley Springs, WV, needs your help!

Mayor Greg and I have seen this landslide in person. It could truly devastate the integrity of the castle but most importantly, the absolute danger that could come to motorist on Rt 9, when this "hill" gives-way during a heavy rain.

Here is the letter I just received:

In August of 2024, a catastrophic rock slide tore through our hillside, collapsing the Castle’s driveway onto Route 9.

For months, we waited as state officials at the Department of Highways evaluated repairs. We were told initially that DOH would handle the delicate and dangerous work themselves—only to learn more recently that the project now falls to us and the quote from the DOH contractor was $330,000.

The damage is only a few yards from the Castle foundation itself and with each new rainstorm the chances of further damage increase.

Not only do we fear for our beloved landmark on the National Registry of Historic Places, but we are also very aware of potential harm caused to travelers on the road below as boulders come loose.

With winter approaching, we have just 6 months to stabilize the slope before further damage occurs.

While we continue to pursue government aid, we’re launching this emergency fund to bridge the gap—every dollar ensures the Castle survives for future generations.
