Family 1:
Daughter, 2-3 (White) She should be mimicking that of a sick child. Fever. Coughing, cuddling with the mother for comfort. Clearly not feeling well and looking for support from her mother. Home environment description: A nice middle-class America house. Something in the Cleveland suburbs. We get the feeling that she’s an only child. Please do one take and have the child do the action alone. For a second take you can be in the audition to help your child with the action if you’re willing to be in the commercial with her if chosen.
Family 2:
Son, 2-3 (White) Should be mimicking that of a sick child. Fever. Coughing, cuddling with the parents for comfort. Clearly not feeling well and looking for support from his parents. We get the feeling that he’s an only child. Please do one take and have the child do the action alone. For a second take you can be in the audition to help your child with the action if you’re willing to be in the commercial with him if chosen. Setting-Suburban, single-family home.
Family 3:
Son, 8-10 (White) He should be able to mimic wheezing that of a child with asthma. Clearly having difficulty breathing, wincing, and experiencing painful breaths and looking to Dad for reassurance administering his inhaler. Home environment description: Slightly messy, 8-year-old
Family 4:
Mother, 24-28 (Hispanic) Crying baby (no specific ailment). Sits up in bed with her young baby. The baby cries. (Which we can do with sound effects from the reverse view without needing to have the actual baby crying). The new mother is scared, nervous, confused, and doesn’t know what to do. Her husband (any race) 28 sits next to them and tries to comfort her. Home environment description: A modest home. A starter home. Maybe even an apartment feel. This is a younger family who’s starting out. And this would be their first child, which causes much more uncertainty, and they're experiencing a sick child for the first time. And the uncertainty of what to do is real and terrifying.
Father, 24-28 (Any Ethnicity) Crying baby (no specific ailment).
Baby, 1-2yr (Hispanic) A young mother, sits up in bed with her young baby. A 1-year-old. The baby cries. (Which we can do with sound effects from the reverse view without needing to have the actual baby crying). Her husband (any race) 28 sits next to them and tries to comfort her. Home environment description: A modest home. A starter home. Maybe even an apartment feel. This is a younger family who’s starting out. Please do one take and have the child do the action alone. For a second take you can be in the audition to help your child with the action if you’re willing to be in the commercial with her if chosen.
Family 5:
Tween Daughter, 9-12yr (White) She’s sprained a knee or possibly broken or fractured a bone. Clearly an orthopedic issue. Parents are trying to keep ice on it and comfort her. They try to help her to get up to bed, but she clearly can put no weight on that leg from the injury. The girl should be on the verge of tears. Home environment description: This is a house in the suburbs. The girl is clearly into sports and has basketball and soccer equipment and posters in her room as the parents try to address her leg injury.
Family 6:
Son, 12-14 (Black) Son who’s in horrible stomach pain. Almost keeled over as his parents are trying to help. The father tries to examine him and he winces in pain. Unable to even stand or straighten out, the mother and father grow more and more nervous, at the possibility of this being an emergency care situation. Home environment description: This is a house just outside of Cleveland's main city. He’s clearly one of a few children. Maybe one even passes the scene to show more of the family dynamic. The house should be one of the nicer houses. But clearly a few boys live there as sports and video games consoles litter the common room where the situation unfolds.
