Gardens sure are a lot of work but today it's worth it. Zucchini, pattypan squash, tomato, green pepper, red onion, garlic, meatballs and basil. Who's hungry? (Occasionally the wife claims a piece right out of the kiln. This is her new favorite.)

Birds and spirals seem to be a running theme these days; wanting to fly above it all, I guess. These are fresh from the bisque kiln. Still not sure what the surface decoration will be. I've been experimenting... Will post a pic when complete. Anybody else into birds?

I often look to nature for wisdom . . . so when the currents of today's world become so chaotic they threaten all, I remember to wait...be patient. . . the forces of nature stirring the water will bring change (Mojuba Oya). So pop your head up when you can and dive deep when you need to...we in this for the long haul. The year has brought a new focus . . . more on meaning, connection, and expression. Divinely inspired pieces - I am a Sexton after all - born to create and take care of the sacred I give thanks to the Ancestors who I continue to look to for guidance and upliftment. Mimi was a force of Nature, in alignment with the seasons and the flow of family. I stive to be as strong and unflappable as she was. This piece is fresh out of bisque, will post a pic when its complete. Thanks Mimi, I miss you.

I've been underground for the last few weeks...basically reevaluating life. Evil can certainly make one contemplative. Thoughts of Art, consumerism & community swirl with feelings of fear, rage and apathy. I've literally spent 37 of my 54 years on this planet "fighting the good fight" (like so many). We've marched, lobbied, organized ... prayed, screamed, & cried ... for freedom, for equality, for decency, for love. How quickly hate and power can change things that took decades to build.
My studio, a place of solace and joy. I almost lost that last year chasing the almighty dollar. New year, new world, new business model. Hello 2025, let's be friends :)

BRRRRRRRRRRR It's soup and sandwich weather. I've been glazing for the last 10 hours and I'm starving. Some spicy tomato soup, a grilled cheese & a glass of sweet tea would hit the spot about right now 😋😋😋
