2.This past week I added details to
first 2 desk and the printing press.
Creating an illusion of a newspaper
being printed.
Next week the scaffolding will be
put up and I will finish drawing the.
top section of the mural.
I spend the time that I'm not
painting researching old Couriers
and coping old ads and articles to
be used on the mural.

Week three of the Saline Courier Mural
Bottom 3/4th off wall sketching was
completed . Blocked in painting of
The 3rd desk and Linda Hollenbeck
and started parts of the printing press.
This weeks excitement came from
my trip to the Saline Library and
finding a 1877 copy of the Saline
County Digest on microfilm. It is
my goal to find copies of each
paper with the different titles
the Courier has had from the
beginning and key headlines
for it's 150 year.

Week two of the Saline Courier Mural.
Researching early local business
1920 - 1950’s.
HOW MANY CAN YOU RECALL?
Only able to work 2 afternoons, my
time was spent on desk details and
showing how technology was advancing.
Desk 1 starting in 1876 and desk 2 showing
the 1920's plus. 1937 is the oldest Couriers
in their archives because of 2 fires.
Need to go the the library and check
their microfilm on Courier newspapers.
My goal is to incorporate real news
articles and ads from local businesses.
How may local business' can you recall
from the 1920’s - 50"s?
