No big car racing this Saturday due to the World finals in Ohio.

Quick update on the Mid South Team Finals at I57 Dragstrip.

We ran as far at the temps would allow today. At 8pm it was falling fast and hard. By 9 we hit 40 and called it a night for the safety of the racers.
We did finish and complete the Race of Champions. Congrats to all the winners and runners up’s. We will have a complete list of those tomorrow.
So here’s the plan moving forward. We will start round #3 of the main event on Sunday at 11:30am, We will go right into Modified and continue the same run order from there. Unfortunately super cold night and morning temps will not allow us to start much earlier. Weather looks great after that.
We will run and finish the race to completion tomorrow.
After further thinking and speaking with fellow racers. We have decided to continue the team pairings in the rear of lanes as the same as we ran today. We will get as many of you in the lane you want as long it is possible. Remember, the rules and object is to not have to race your teammate unless no other racers remain. We have not had to race teammates as of yet and I plan on keeping it that way even if the last few cars remaining in that round have to switch to another lane.
Here is the current point standings after 2 rounds.

I57 RACERS ONLY…TEAM FINALS INFO…

I57 racers will pay all there team entry fees at registration in the tower. We will have your tech cards and summit gear waiting for you. Make sure you come up there right away and get registered.
We will be putting on a team racer dinner on Friday night, we are currently working on location, meal and time and will let you know where and when. You may come at that time to eat, or graze throughout the evening till it’s gone. Whatever works best for you. There is no charge for this. It’s our appreciation to you all for supporting I57 Dragstrip.
Any other questions just let me know. Good luck racers. Bring home that trophy. Let’s race boys and girls. They don’t come into our home and win. 😁

Team finals things….(edited)

Couple quick follow ups I missed on the live feed 🤦‍♂️😁

License—- you do NOT have to be a licensed IHRA racer to attend the teams. You may race for the money, trophy, and big check. But…..If you win and want to attend the World finals, you must have a current IHRA license.

Race fuel —— We are officially out of race fuel. And this late in season we are not ordering any more. If you need fuel. MAKE SURE you bring it with you.

Jr Dragsters —- We have a travel rule on juniors in the pits. Juniors MUST be pushed/pulled to lanes and must also be pushed/pulled from ticket booth. No junior dragster may drive through the pitts. They may drive slowly up return road to the ticket booth after a run. Let’s keep everyone safe.
