Wellā¦itās time to FINALLY show you what Iāve been working on and reveal the secret Iāve been keeping. š
For quite some time, Iāve been designing and putting together my own line of DIY Paint Kits. And yeah, I know youāve seen paint kitsā¦but you havenāt seen THESE.
I didnāt want to create just another paint kit. I wanted to create an experienceāwith original designs full of personality that you arenāt going to see stacked on every craft-store shelfā¦or anywhere else, for that matter.
I wanted something colorful and ridiculously fun that a child would run toward. Something that might convince a teenager to put her phone face-down for a while and actually sit, paint and laugh with somebody.
And something so completely ridiculous that a grown woman could look at three shrimp partying and gossiping in a cocktail glass and think, āYep. Thatās what Iām painting tonight.ā š
Because somewhere along the way, grown-ups forget that weāre allowed to do things for absolutely no reason other than theyāre FUN!!
Maybe you paint with friends. Maybe thereās w**e involved. š· Maybe somebodyās shrimp comes out looking like it needs medical attention. š WHO CARES? If you laughed until your stomach hurt, forgot about everything else for a couple of hours and felt a little bit like a kid againā¦THAT was the masterpiece.
And thatās really the heart behind these kits. Painting gives me an escape from everything else for a while, and I wanted these kits to give other people a chance to experience that tooāwhether youāre 8, 18 or 68.
There is no ārightā way to paint one. Use the inspiration image as a guideā¦or donāt. Change the colors. Simplify it. Add something. Leave something out. GO ROGUE! Honestly, I hope you do. š
Each kit includes an 8Ć10 pre-drawn canvas, paints, a flat and round brush, palette, step-by-step instructions and an inspiration imageāeverything you need to sit down and start creating.
The kits were designed from the beginning with beginner and amateur painters in mind. The design is already drawn for you, and the instructions guide you through the painting. You donāt need to know how to draw or know all the ārulesā of painting. Thatās kind of the point.
And I wanted to make sure those little paint pots and two brushes could actually get the job done. š The Floral Highland Cow and Bandana Beauty you see in one of the attached photos are my actual paintings, painted using only the paints and brushes included in those kits.
I havenāt personally painted every design from the packaged kits (yet), but every one was created with the same goal: enough guidance to get you started, enough simplicity to keep it approachable and enough freedom to make it your own.
This isnāt paint-by-number. Your finished painting isnāt supposed to look exactly like the inspiration imageā¦Itās supposed to look like YOURS.
And hereās the other little surpriseā¦
Youāre only seeing HALF of them today. š
I currently have 10 different designs completed and packaged, but Iām keeping the other five under wraps just a little longer. š
Some are pretty. Some are silly. Some are very Louisiana. ā¤ļø And some are apparently for grown adults who have reached a point in life where painting three partying shrimp seems like a perfectly reasonable way to spend an evening.
I stand by that decision. šš¤£
But they all come back to the same idea:
Paint. Create. Make it yours.
Because sometimes the masterpiece isnāt the paintingā¦
Itās the experience. ā¤ļø
And more than anything, I hope that when one of these kits lands on your table, you have an absolute blast with it.
Because thatās exactly what I made them for.
