We pride ourselves in featuring talented performers of all ages from communities across southern Illinois. This makes us a TRUE community theatre. In its earliest form, we offered an artistic outlet for the youth of Benton to come together during the summer months and perform a simple production of a small cast show. Since then, our group has continued to grow to its present size of over 300 membe
rs. Our first production, Godspell, was performed in the Benton High School cafeteria to a total audience of 150. The next year, 1978, the group was able to perform in an abandoned church/movie theatre on the public square of Benton. In 1979, we found a home at the Rend Lake College theatre, which enabled us to reach and grow a much larger audience. Pyramid Players performed at Rend Lake until 2012. In 2013, Pyramid Players moved to the Benton Civic Center. This wonderful facility now serves as our home stage. We strive to present the highest-quality productions while providing a theatrical outlet for performers of all ages in Franklin, Jefferson, and Williamson counties. All persons serving in Director/Administrative positions in the group are fully accredited and certified professionals.
