I went into section five today and looked at the spot where riders broke away from the marked trail. (red line on map) Some made an immediate right turn to the trail some went further and turned around, but most continued bashing thru tree limbs and thick brush finally finding arrows. Gaining at least 8/10ths of a mile. Guys if you don't see arrows turn around and find them !

Just a couple of things; When coming to our club, PLEASE slow on the gravel road, if you think you are going slow enough just dial it down a little bit more. We got some great neighbors and we like it when they are happier. Sunday - for the pit crews that want to follow their rider(s) Please don't park/pit on a paved road, we've have had some close calls in the past. Sections 2, 3, 4, & 6 are starting off the road in fields trying to keep the lineup off the roads. Pit crews try to park only on one side of a road, we don't want to block the local traffic. Section 5 has a grassy lot on the north side it's great for a pit area and you can see the trail too. Try to avoid the road crossings, your vehicle blocks the view. At the GAS STOP please park in the lot and not on the road (I know there's shade there but it blocks traffic) bring a pop-up for shade. And ladies as you have requested a potty will be there for you. VTR is looking forward to seeing all of you this weekend.

Barkbuster update; Six sections- all bikes will ride. Section one starts at the club grounds and is 6.0 miles. Section two 8.2 miles. Section three 9.0 miles. Gas Stop w/ gas trailer available and porta potty. Section four 6.0 miles. Section five 8.8 miles. Section six 8.6 miles. We have been able to cut down on the road miles a little this year. A lot of work has gone into this year's event, a lot of new trail, grass tracks and new properties, too. We're giving the A/AA section a rest this year, even though the property owners are a little disappointed that we're not there. The Family Enduro is Saturday on different trails than Sunday ( no sneak peeks ).

The Barkbuster Enduro layout is coming along really good so far. I picked up another piece of property today, it's just a 10 acre parcel but it will give us a connector route between two other properties. There's only going to be six sections total this year for all the riders, three before Gas and three after. The biggest reason is it's getting a lot harder to get volunteers to help out, mostly check crews and road crossings. A lot people have stuck with us every year and I sure do appreciate their help.

I rode enduros a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I wasn't a fast guy, rode up front on Row One and even got a couple of trophies ( Good thing the story is always bigger than the trophy ). I made a lot of friends over the years riding and laying out the Enduro.

I wanted to give back to this sport that I loved doing, I wanted to give riders a race that any level rider could ride, one they would go away from and say they had fun and would come back again. So, I keep coming back and doing again. Sign up is still open !!

The Family Team Ride is just about done! We asked the riders as they were switching riders at each lap, how is trail and they said was great. We called the weather service this morning to get a quick sprinkle before the starting flag just to keep the dust down and it worked great. 34 teams today. mostly two riders but we did have a couple of three rider teams and one team with Dad and 3 young men. Also, one Mom Team !! We will try to up some pictures today.
