Congratulations to Riley & Dash for being crowned the 2026 Kid Day Queen & King!

A huge thank you to all 13 candidates who participated this year. We had an amazing response from the kids and families in our community, with 10 girls and 3 boys completing the questionnaire for the 2026 Kid Day Queen & King competition.

This is happening during Kid Day week! What a fun activity for the kids in our community!

Exciting opportunity for local youth during Kid Day week!! We are excited to host a Kid's Market in our parking lot on Thursday July 16th 3 - 6p. Space will be limited so sign up before June 1st to secure your

Kid’s Market is meant to be a way to introduce children to entrepreneurship, business skills, and customer service. This market is a chance for youth to sell their homemade products to community members in a market type setting.

Kid’s Market is open to children ages preschool to high school senior! Children must be able to run their booth completely on their own – parents should be present; we just want the kids to build skills by selling, interacting, etc!

Products being sold must be made by the youth!

We are excited to announce that we have the largest number of KING and QUEEN candidates that we have had in three years! We invite the community to attend the Coronation on Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30 pm. This year it will be held outside in the Scandi Haven courtyard. Please bring a lawn chair and help us crown the newest Kid Day Queen and King.

Dear Parents
It is time to start thinking about Benson’s 95th Annual Kid Day. The Kid Day committee, sponsored by the City of Benson, are excited to continue the tradition of the Kid Day King & Queen.
Kid Day royalty is available for all children in the area, who are currently in Kindergarten through second grade. Children that would like to be considered for King or Queen will need to fill out the attached questions. Parents are able to help fill out the questionnaire, but children must at least sign their names someplace on the form. Parents will need to fill out the necessary permission portion of the attached form. All forms will need to be emailed or mailed by May 13, 2026. You can email [email protected] or mail

This year, we have changed the coordination date and time, along with the requirements to the commitment to represent Benson as the Kid Day King & Queen. Coronation will be at ScandiHaven of Cura, 1710 McKinney Avenue, Benson, at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, May 20 2026. All candidates will receive a t-shirt to wear for the Kid Day Parade and $10.00 worth of carnival tickets, which the Kid Day Committee will keep for them until the carnival on July 18. We will ask that all candidates, even if not selected for King & Queen, ride in the parade.
There is also a change in requirements as King and Queen. The newly crowned King and Queen will be asked to attend the 2 parades in Benson, Flag Day (June 12, 2026 and Kid Day, July 18, 2026). Parents will need to provide a vehicle to drive, however a set of magnetic signs will be provided to use on the vehicle that say “Benson Kid Day Royalty.” If the royalty chooses to participate in other local parades, you will receive a $25 gas card (up to 4) to help pay for the expenses. We are also asking the King & Queen to be able to help MC/award prizes at the Talent Show, participate in the carnival and be involved in other Kid Day Week activities.
