After an incredibly hectic summer Carly and I were finally able to fire our soda kiln again this past weekend. We are still learning this tiny little kilns personality but it is really fun to fire and it gets up around ^8-10 with little effort. I’m still buzzing from this past weekend—one of my longtime dreams came to life and we built our own soda kiln! It was an incredible experience made even better by the amazing community that helped bring it to life.

Huge thanks to Kevin for sharing his design, knowledge, and for leading such a generous and inspiring workshop. Thank you to TJ for the endless support and hands-on help throughout the entire weekend.

To the participants—Rita, Amy, Ryan, Amy, and Adam—thank you for your trust, hard work, and for taking the leap to fire your work in a brand new kiln.

Thank you to my parents for keeping us fed, supported, and grounded. And most of all, thank you to Carly—for everything you do and for making so many of my dreams a reality.

I can’t wait to keep firing, learning and growing community with this kiln.
