Two words: Manirose Bobisuthi. These proper nouns name an actor, but this enchanting moniker could also refer to a violent force of nature. Bobisuthi’s performance lives up the legendary reputation that accompanies the character Martha in Edward Albee’s masterful play “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” Directed by Peter Gelblum, it is a play that consists mainly of dialogue, and consequently, the acting is of utmost importance. Ian Dyer matches her formidable energy as George, Martha’s henpecked husband, with a far-from-shabby performance of his own, handling beautiful dialogue and abject emotional states with skill and grace. Dyer’s acting ascends to another level in this Mountain Community Theater production. Together, this duo brings a charge to the stage that is downright explosive.--Jake Jake J. Thomas
