For 25 years, The Young Actors’ Theatre Camp has been creating unforgettable summers in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains — a place where young artists come to make movies, create theatre, build confidence, find lifelong friendships, and truly be themselves.
And honestly? We think it’s one of the happiest places on earth.
This summer, we’re looking for a few incredible humans to join the YATC family:
🎭 **Camp Counselors** *(Paid Position)*
If you have experience in childcare, theatre education, summer camps, youth leadership, or simply LOVE working with young people in a creative environment — we want YOU.
Our counselors are mentors, hype people, leaders, role models, and memory-makers. One moment you’re helping campers rehearse a scene, the next you’re dancing at a themed dinner, leading games in the redwoods, or helping create pure camp magic.
This is hard work, heart work, and unbelievably rewarding work.
📸 **Headshot Photographer** *(Paid Position)*
After many amazing years with the incredible John Cole, we are looking for a new photographer to capture our young artists this summer.
This role typically consists of 6 days across the summer (2 days at a time) photographing, editing, and delivering professional headshots for campers.
If you’re great with kids & teens, fast on turnaround, and know how to make people feel confident in front of the camera, we’d love to see your work.
🌟 **Counselors in Training (CITs)**
*(Internship / Pathway to Paid Position)*
We’re searching for a handful of amazing humans (seniors in high school and above) who are interested in learning what it takes to become a full-fledged YATC Counselor.
This is an opportunity to learn leadership skills, work alongside our incredible staff team, gain hands-on camp experience, and potentially grow into future paid counseling opportunities at YATC.
If you’re passionate about the arts, community, and creating joy for others, this might be the perfect fit.
