Bob Smith and Vern Holzhueter of our Fair Board attended a conference presented by Ian Hill (center of photo) at Crookston, MN. The subject was "YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE". He stressed
that a successful county fair board understands that progress demands change while preserving tradition, heritage and authenticity. Ian will be doing his presentation at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds April 17. Follow our page for more information.

Crookston, MN — another meaningful stop on the Heartland Association of Fairs, Festivals and Events YMTD journey.

What stood out in Crookston wasn’t just the conversation about modernizing fairs — it was the shared commitment to building places where young people grow into the Citizens of Tomorrow. When communities invest in their fairs, they’re investing in leadership, responsibility, and connection that lasts far beyond fair week.

Every stop reminds us that progress and tradition can move forward together. Grateful to the Heartland Association for leaning in, sharing ideas, and continuing to strengthen the role fairs play at the center of community life.
