Had the honor of meeting Michael Cartellone yesterday during the opening of his art exhibit at the Arete Gallery in New Hope, PA. We had a great discussion alongside Andy Kin from 89.7 WDVR talking about his diverse artwork style, what it’s like to have a “day job” as a painter and a “night job” as a drummer, what it was like hearing his song on the radio for the first time, and his over 25+ years as the drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Once I saw Michael’s painting “Pronounced”, a portrait of the original Skynyrd lineup in 1973, I knew we had to get a picture with it. Michael thanked me for being a fan and reminded me that the band continues to perform because of people like me continuing to come out to see them. Looking forward to seeing Michael and the Skynyrd boys tonight at Musikfest and next week with ZZ Top at Bethel Woods! -Matt

We are also happy to introduce TWO NEW SHOWS! Every Saturday from 7pm-12am will be our SOUTHERN FRIED SATURDAY NIGHT, chocked full of songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band, 38 Special, and many more! In the meantime, the BBR crew has been working on compiling over 117 hours of our favorite tunes, and we are excited to finally announce… OUR NEW 24/7 RADIO STATION!!! Awesome weekend of music at the Rock Ribs and Ridges festival at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, with headliners Blackberry Smoke and 38 Special! Also had the opportunity to meet Gene Odom, longtime Security Manager for Lynyrd Skynyrd and a childhood friend of Ronnie Van Zant. When Gene saw my shirt, he said Gimme Back My Bullets was Dale Earnhardt’s theme song. -Matt

Beaver Brook Radio meets the Big Apple! Had the opportunity on Friday night to see the incomparable on the last of his 4-night, sold out run at the . Truly one of the most underrated singer-songwriters of his generation and the show had a wonderful mix of new and old songs that kept the crowd captivated all night! -Matt
